The Embassy of Zambia to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and UNECA

The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and UNECA held a high-level engagement with a business delegation led by Mr. Abdinasir Turky, Chairman and CEO of the Investment Center of Africa (ICOA), to explore opportunities for strengthening trade, investment and private-sector cooperation with Zambia.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Alberto M. Muchanga, Ambassador of Zambia to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and UNECA, alongside Ms. Majorie Maile, First Secretary for Trade, Economic and Investment Affairs, and Ms. Ikiye Gertude Sambandu Mushinge, Economic Counsellor.

The ICOA-led business delegation included Mr. Ranjeev Sharma of the Indian Business Forum, Mr. Fabio Millifanti of Technogen, Italy, and other business representatives.

The discussions focused on opportunities to deepen bilateral trade and investment relations, promote Zambia as an investment destination, and facilitate stronger connections between Zambian businesses and African and international investors.

The participants also discussed opportunities for connecting investors with potential projects and business opportunities in Zambia, as well as facilitating future engagements involving African, Indian, European and other international business communities.

The engagement reflects a shared interest in developing practical mechanisms to promote investment, expand commercial partnerships and support stronger economic relations involving Zambia and the wider African business community.

Further discussions are expected to focus on identifying priority sectors, developing joint business initiatives and establishing a framework for continued cooperation between ICOA, the Embassy of Zambia and participating business organizations.
